About World 4or Photography
Memories and purpose are the most valuable things to human beings. You may be thinking that money, family and friends, or career are the most important but these are just examples of means to the ultimate end of creating enjoyable memories. As kids, we may not have understood why adults acted in certain ways such as always taking vacations, taking photographs, or visiting family very often. Eventually, most of us these days have come to understand the hedonist way of life, to strive for happiness whether or not that applies to our current situation or not. We only get one life so live it to the fullest! Hence World 4 Photography was created to direct people in the right direction. This website was created to motivate individuals to travel, take photos, eat great food, and overall enjoy life so that great memories can be reflected upon and life given meaning later on. Even if one cannot practically accomplish these tasks now, giving motivation to make these activities practical someday or creating vicarious experiences would be the secondary goal.

About the Founder
Born in Shanghai, I arrived in the states when I was only 1.5 years old with just my parents. The rest of my immediate family remained back in China. I moved around along the East Coast but eventually settled in New Jersey, growing up. Throughout most of my schooling, I just did what my parents told me to do, to study hard, play an instrument, and play a sport. This would pay off tremendously as I received a generous scholarship to Rutgers University, the local state university. Finding the greatest value here, I decided to attend school close to home. Never had photography come across my mind until later during college when my courses were lighter and I had some free time.
Sometime before 2007, my parents bought a Canon Rebel XSi (450D) with stock lens for our family use but I was never a big fan of taking or being taken in photos. Many years passed and since then I had met several individuals who were photography hobbyists. From that point on, I developed an interest in photography. Over the years, I have played around with many lenses and obtained a second camera, the Canon Rebel T1i (500D) as an affordable amateur alternative that can shoot video, use an SD card, and be compatible with the accessories for the XSi. After many years later, I recently got the Canon EOS 6D as the next level up, affordable professional body, along with a GoPro-like action cam and a Huawei Google Nexus 6P for the camera and Project Fi for international phone service. Simultaneously, I started trying out new restaurants, going to different events, and traveling, all activities which would be complemented by photographs. Hence, I developed a passion for photography. Over time, I studied and practiced by myself how to take better photos. Logically, the next step for me was to start a business to take my hobby to the next level and optimize my free time. Simultaneously, I taught myself Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and WordPress. Currently, I take pictures of all kinds of subjects involving travel, events, food, landscape, and to a lesser degree, portraits. My next goal is to successfully run an online business and master photo editing.
Supporting these expeditions in striving for the best picture does not come cheap. Donations are always appreciated 🙂
